Good morning everybody...
House Tutor Group
7.30am – 7.45am
Every morning starts with a registration in our tutor groups. With students from Years 7, 8 and 9 all mixing together in the same group, it’s a great chance to socialise and learn from each other.

Every Middle Years student has a DT session each week. We work on all kinds of interesting projects, from coming up with our own original board games to creating things using the school’s state-of-the-art 3D printers.

History
Our history teachers always come up with interesting and engaging lessons that help us learn to the best of our ability. We decorate our classroom walls with lots of learning aids and there are always plenty of resources available.

Break
9.45am – 10.05am
The handball courts and table tennis tables are always busy at break times. We regularly use them for tournaments, House competitions and events, and they are a great place for us to come together and socialise between lessons.

Music
Music lessons are always interesting as they give us a chance to try out a variety of different instruments under the guidance of our multi-talented music teachers. And the best part is that we get the opportunity to perform at our annual music performance in December.

We love Computer Science because it allows us to learn about programming, coding and even robotics! Everyone studies the subject in Years 7 and 8, and we can opt to continue into Year 9 and even further.

Lunch
12.05pm – 1pm
While we like to play during lunchtime, we always make sure to find time to visit one of the school’s three canteens. They serve options from all over the world to suit every dietary requirement and they use a cashless system, so our campus card is all we need to pay for our meal.

Library-based English lessons are a chance for us to have some quiet reading time in a relaxed setting. There are always plenty of comfy chairs and bean bags to sit on and our English teacher helps us choose from the huge range of books.

Every JIS student has swimming lessons taught by fully-qualified swimming coaches. Swimming is an incredibly important life skill, and we are lucky to have a fantastic 50m pool, as well as this 25m one, in which to learn this skill, which will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
