7.30am – 7.45am
Good morning everybody...
Registration
7.30am – 7.45am
Registration provides a time to gather our thoughts and prepare for the day ahead. Teachers tell us anything we need to know for the day, review the day’s lessons and once a week we have an assembly, which is often led by Year 6 children.
7.50am – 8.45am
Period 1
7.50am – 8.45am
Humanities
Period 1
7.50am – 8.45am
Humanities
Taking place in our classrooms, our Humanities lessons combine aspects of Geography, History and English. Class sizes are always small, so we have plenty of guidance from our teacher whenever we need it.

Period 2
8.50am – 9.45am

Every student in Years 2 to 6 has DT lessons, which are split between the ICT suites, a clean room for textiles and graphics and our amazing purpose-built Junior DT workshop. Our projects are always linked with what we are studying in class.

Break
9.45am – 10.05am
See you on the court...
Break
9.45am – 10.05am
The handball courts are always busy at break times. We regularly use them for tournaments and class competitions, and they are a great place for us to come together and socialise between lessons.

Maths
Period 3
10.10am – 11.05am

Maths at JIS is much more than learning times tables. While younger children explore the subject through play-based learning, we work together with our teachers to solve real-life problems and give meaning to the numbers.

Time to refuel...
Lunchtime
12pm – 12.45pm
While we like to play during lunchtime, we always make sure to find time to visit the Rainforest Canteen, which is reserved especially for Junior School children. They serve options from all over the world to suit every dietary requirement and they use a cashless system, so our wristband is all we need to pay for our meal.
12.45pm – 1pm
Reading Time
12.45pm – 1pm
Once upon a time...
Reading Time
12.45pm – 1pm
