Enrichment
The school believes strongly in the education of the whole child and encourages them to make the most of all of the opportunities available to them.

At JIS, education extends beyond the classroom to nurture well-rounded individuals, which is equally important alongside academic work. Enrichment at JIS encompasses the following:

School Events and Activities
e.g. International Week, Peace Week, House Sports, Debating Competitions

School Trips and Visits
e.g. Year 7 Trip to Temburong, Kindy Trip to Royal Brunei Air Force, Ski Trip to Japan

Leadership Opportunities
e.g. Junior and Senior School Councils, House Captains

External Partnerships, Awards and Competitions
e.g. FOBISIA Games, Model United Nations (MUN), UKMT Maths Challenge

Education For Sustainable Development (EFSD)
e.g. Outdoor Discovery Centre (ODC), Eco-JIS, Green Business Challenge

Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs)
Sports, Arts, Outdoor Education, Service Learning, Curriculum Enhancement
Our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) Programme offers over 300 options, ensuring something for everyone across: Sports and Exercise (including football, fencing, gymnastics, tennis, golf), Visual and Performing Arts (including orchestra, jazz band, musical productions), Outdoor Education (including Duke of Edinburgh International Award, Jerudong Scouts), Service Learning & Community Engagement (including Dive Club Reef Ball Programme, Borneo Project) and Curriculum Enhancement (including Maths Club, Science Workshops).
Students are actively encouraged to step up, take responsibility and create change, developing their leadership skills at every level. The enrichment opportunities play a vital role in fostering positive change within the community, strengthening connections across year levels and ensuring that every student feels like a valued member of the JIS family.

An Enriching Outdoor Education
From Forest School to The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, outdoor learning is at the heart of JIS. Across all age groups, students build confidence, resilience and a connection to nature through activities such as hiking, camping and sustainability projects.
A Holistic Education
At JIS, enrichment is central to school life. With world-class facilities, abundant opportunities across the arts and sports, and a culture that values both performance and growth, students are celebrated and supported in every pursuit.
Jerudong International School holds the prestigious Patron’s Accredited Member status by the Council for British International Schools (COBIS). JIS was given ‘Beacon Status’ for Outstanding Practice in Extra-Curricular, Enrichment and Engagement.
