The Boarding Village
Boarding at JIS Brunei is unlike any other.
Home to beautiful beaches, the cleanest air in the continent and some of the most biodiverse rainforest on the planet, Brunei offers a unique learning environment in which JIS Brunei students are able to flourish and achieve excellence. The impressive school grounds are a considerable asset enhancing the overall learning experience. The Boarding Houses are situated within the extensive and completely private, 120 acre JIS campus, with full services including a medical centre, dining room and recreation facilities, including a brand new cafe. Boarders enjoy a short stroll to school for lessons during the day, and the facilities after lessons have finished.

There are lots of windows during the evenings to get together, relax or play sports. The basketball and Volleyball courts are a popular place to be, bubbling with activity and energy after school, once dinner and homework are finished!

The Football Fields
The football fields, also known as the V block fields, provide a great place for outdoor activities, including tag rugby, running, rounders and football, to name but a few! The Athletic track also has long jump and high jump facilities.

The ODC
The award winning Outdoor Discovery Centre is right on the doorstep of The Boarding Village.
The ODC
The award winning Outdoor Discovery Centre is a student led initiative to restore 10,000m2 of tropical heathland initiative. It has since evolved into a learning space of which the school community is very proud. Boarders enjoy access to the ODC in their spare time, and it is often a hive of activity!

The newly built Sports Complex has large indoor multi purpose courts, an indoor 8 lane, 25m swimming pool and a fitness suite. Boarders are able to gain maximum use from the school sports facilities during their recreation time both before and after school, and on the weekends!

The on-site dining hall exclusively for boarders provides breakfast and evening meals. There are options to suit every dietary requirement and there are often themed food nights with different cuisines from all over the world.

Kingfisher House
There are 4 houses in the boarding village, each with unique characteristics and common elements. One of these elements is the Matron's Room. Matron is the first person boarders go to with any problems, issues or to chat to an adult who isn’t a teacher. All Matrons are medically trained. Other common spaces include a Music Room, Bedrooms, Common Rooms and shared studied spaces.

There are 4 houses in the boarding village, each with unique characteristics and common elements. One of these elements is the recreation facilities. With pool and table tennis, board games, music and movies, students from all year groups come here to relax and chat about their day. Other common spaces include a Music Room, Bedrooms, Matron's Office and shared study spaces.

Osprey House
There are 4 houses in the boarding village, each with unique characteristics and common elements. One of these elements is the bedrooms. Every bedroom is furnished with a full set of bedroom furniture and linen though many choose to personalise their bedroom space with their own bedding from home. Rooms are on a sharing basis, with 2 to 4 students sharing. Other common spaces include a Music Room, Common Rooms, Matron's Office and shared study spaces.

There are 4 houses in the boarding village, each with unique characteristics and common elements. One of these elements is the Common Room. It is one of the most fun places to hang out in the Boarding House. With pool and table tennis, board games, music and movies, students from all year groups come here to relax and chat about their day. Boarding House meetings are also held here.
