

Meet the Staff
Each Boarding House has a residential Housemaster or Housemistress and Deputy who are all fully qualified teachers in the school. Each House also has a medically qualified Nurse. Additional teachers and counsellors from the school are also actively involved with students for study and recreational activities.

Beenal Roberts
Head of Boarding and Kingfisher Housemistress
Beenal Roberts is the Head of Boarding while also serving as Housemistress of Kingfisher House. During the day, Beenal is also a Business Studies teacher. She works closely with her husband, Dan Roberts, Head of Sixth Form, to ensure boarders receive exceptional academic and pastoral care. Having raised their two children within the school community, the family are at the heart of a vibrant boarding community.

Eagle Housemaster
As Housemaster of Eagle House and a experienced Physical Education (PE) teacher, Dan Stirling brings a deep understanding of boarding life to his role, having himself grown up in a boarding school himself. He is joined by his wife, Laura, a Nursery Teacher, and their two children, creating a nurturing home where students are supported both in and out of the classroom.

Osprey Housemistress
Jennifer May is the Housemistress of Osprey House and a passionate teacher of English. She lives in the boarding community with her husband, Phil May, a Mathematics teacher and Assistant Head of Senior School – Colleague Development, and their two children. Together, they foster a supportive environment where every boarder feels valued and inspired to thrive.

Matthew Smith
Ibis Housemaster
Matthew Smith leads Ibis House with enthusiasm, bringing his expertise as a Physical Education (PE) teacher to the heart of the boarding community. He is joined by his wife, Nikki, a Drama teacher, and their two children, creating a welcoming family atmosphere for boarders. Before his time with Ibis, Matthew served as Housemaster of Hawk House, a boys’ day House, where he developed his leadership and pastoral care skills.
