Jerudong International School Boarding House
Boarding Life

A home from home

The Boarding Houses are situated within the single, safe and secure, 120 acre school campus. There are four Boarding Houses each catering for up to 64 students aged 11 years to 19 years. There are two girls’ Houses (Osprey and Kingfisher Houses) and two boys’ Houses (Eagle and Ibis Houses). There are about 160 weekly boarders and 60 full boarders within this thriving, vibrant community.

Boarding students spend their school day, Monday - Friday, in the School which is just a short walk from the Boarding Houses. The Boarding Community has areas such as the dining hall and recreation facilities. In addition, Boarders can make use of the Sports Complex facilities. Each House has bespoke common rooms, study areas, kitchens, music rooms as well as the bedrooms and bathrooms. A full programme of activities is available at the weekends for our full boarders.

In October 2022, Jerudong International School was awarded the prestigious Patron’s Accredited Member status by the Council for British International Schools (COBIS). JIS was given ‘Beacon Status’ for ‘Outstanding Practice in Boarding.

Belonging to a Boarding House is like being a member of an extended family. The focus of the Boarding Houses is to provide a safe and secure community where each child is able to thrive and achieve excellence in all they do. By creating a supportive environment, all boarding students will have the confidence to participate, a strong sense of well-being and develop leadership skills.

The Boarding House teams are available 24/7 to care for your child. Each Boarding House has a residential Housemaster or Housemistress and Deputy who are all fully qualified teachers in the school. Each House has a medically qualified Nurse. Additional teachers from the school are also actively involved with the Boarders for study and recreational activities.
